In time for Fall, Givenchy added two shades in its limited edition Le Rouge Intense Color Sensuously Mat Lip Color line. Aptly named "Burgundy", this dynamo of a tube screams luxe to the core, from the genuine red wine leather case to its matte yet superbly creamy formulation. Buy or bust? My kind of nude, rose-mauve that is. Sexy and universally-appealing, I ordered 207 Rose Plumetis ($36, 3.4g/ 0.12 oz) sight unseen because my local Sephora is so behind with new releases. But who cares really, when it comes to lipsticks, what really matters to me is the quality. Color is secondary, after all I'm game to anything!
Consistent with earlier limited editions, Rose Plumetis is intensely-pigmented, creamy, and renders opaque coverage in one swipe. Wear time is decent, five hours give or take. While matte in general can potentially dry out lips or exaggerate lip lines, this lipstick is a rare gem. It's one of the main reasons why I keep repurchasing from this line, I am floored without a doubt.
Proof of undying love. Rose Plumetis and her sissies from earlier limited edition releases (reviews are linked). They are in heavy rotation at any given time.
