Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense 39 ($19, Sephora) is described as satin orange coral. Paraben-free, it is richly pigmented and has commendable staying power (about four hours but completely gone after a meal). The texture is quite matte and it has a tendency to settle in between lip lines. When using this lippy, I highly recommend to exfoliate your lips first and then moisturize with a lip balm. I'm not a fan of the scent, it's too chemical according to my olfactory sense. It feels waxy upon application, thanks woe to the three wax ingredients (castor, candelilla, rice bran). While I like the shade (I'm a sucker for coral), I'm not head over heels with this lipstick. Nice try but I won't be repurchasing. Skip.
Do you own this particular shade?

Some of their formulas are more moisturizing than others. The lipstick looks beautiful on you.
ReplyDeleteThanks much. Yeah, maybe it's just this shade and finish. xo
DeleteI am the same way with scents! If it has an unpleasant scent I just can't use it no matter how pretty it may be :(. Side note, it does look REALLY pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks much Tina. Re: scent, even if I don't smell it personally but I can envision it based from the description, it turns my stomach upside down :-/
