What's Your Summer Makeup Routine Like?

PR sample // Own purchase

I am literally sweating as I write this post. With the fan blowing behind me, hair up in a messy bun, wearing tank top and shorts, can you tell summer is here?! Which brings me to my next question: do you change your makeup routine for the summer months? I sure do!

For one, I skip full coverage and opt for barely-there powder foundation. Most days my eye makeup is pretty simple, some days I wear bright lipstick. So here are my summer staples:

1.  MDSolarSciences Mineral Screen Tinted Gel SPF 30+. This is my holy grail sunscreen to date. I like that it is all-natural, doubles as makeup primer, and blurs my pores. How's that for multi-tasking?

2. Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. Not the best concealer on earth but it does the job of brightening my under eye area. I like to set it with Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder.

3. I was not a fan of Laura Geller Balance-N-Bronze initially. But the more I use it, the better I appreciate its ability to warm my dull face. This is what I wear in lieu of full coverage liquid foundation.

4. Hourglass Superficial Waterproof Bronzer is a recent favorite. I like that it's matte- perfect for contouring and/or creating that sun-kissed look sans the shimmer!

5. You're a certified makeup junkie if you have NARS Orgasm Blush, correct? This is one shimmer I actually like especially during summer. Its peachy pink color goes well with anything. Dramatic, low-key, it's so versatile.

6. Kat Von D is one of my favorite eye primer. It performs better than Urban Decay.

7. Recently I reverted to using Everyday Minerals eyeliner/brow kit. I like how my brows look more natural; plus the staying power is way better than eyeliner.

8. Milani Shadow Eyez 12-Hour  Eyeshadow (champagne toast) can be worn alone or as base for eyeshadow.  I prefer the latter method to intensify my eye makeup. I also use it to highlight my  inner eye corner or brow bone.

9. Pur Minerals Mineral Shadow Gold Dust is what I wear for a clean yet glowing eye makeup for summer. It's also office-friendly, so to speak.

10. Prestige mascara is an unsung hero in my makeup arsenal. It is affordable and it separates my lashes just as nice as high-end brands.

11. A lipgloss or any bright lipstick within reach.

12. Then finally, I set everything with Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz 100% Organic. It's another multi-tasker, a toner and setting spray in one!

Now that you know what I use and wear on a daily basis, care sharing yours?

Get Fit and Fab: New Workout Routine and Clothing Plus My Green Meals!

In my Hello Kitty So Kawaii OOTD post, some of my close friends noticed how firm my legs were. I have nothing but pure exercise(s) to thank for. I have shared my renewed passion for hula hoop here and leg-butt toning exercise there. Add hip hop dance and you're in for a whole new set of legs in time for the summer lady!

I have also added a new routine to my workout. My ever fit hub said that I try ankle or wrist weights so in my recent trip to my local sports store, I bought the adjustable 5 pound-set; plus a jump rope, a new pink water jug, and some mesh tank tops. It's a woman thing- can't evah leave store with only one item, argh!

sorry for the pic quality, I just used my phone.

I have also purchased new set of workout clothes from HauteLook, it's from the brand Marika. I like the capri for its tummy control feature but I'm not impressed with the sports bra. While it fits like a glove in front, the back part is squeezing me.

    Curious about my green meals?

That green sandwich wrap is my typical lunch! It's basically whole wheat soft tortilla with lots of spinach, pesto spread, few strips of turkey, and a sprinkle of italian or feta cheese. Yep all of that yumminess under 200 calories! Sometimes I make salad by mixing organic greens with greek yogurt, sauteed shrimp, mushroom and bell pepper (I use EVOO), crumbled feta cheese and balsamic vinegar. Nom to the nth power!

While I'm still debating on the perfect juicer, moi and hub are enjoying Naked juice. Have you tried it? The formula is a 'lil thick to my liking so I add ice and some water. It tastes good!

What about you? do you have fitness goals or tips you want to share?

Try it! Summer Bright Waterline for Makeup Dummies

Here's a a quick summer eye makeup for dummies. No, I don't mean to insult anyone. It's like the "dummies" self-help series book. So no pun intended, entiendes?

If you're like me who's always rushing getting ready for work or you're noob to the whole makeup thingimajig, playing up your waterline with bright summer colors can instantly transform your face from drab to fab. And believe me when I say that you can achieve this cuteness in under five minutes. In fact this has been my go-to eye makeup the past week.

    1. Apply eye primer. With the hot weather, you don't want your eye makeup to melt.
    2. Apply your favorite neutral eyeshadow on eyelids.
    3. Line your upper lash line (or lower) with black eye pencil.
    4. Line your lower lash line/ waterline with bright eye pencil. Seal it with the same shade of eyeshadow to prolong the makeup.
    5. Finish with two coats of mascara.

See you're done in a fart. That fast, hahaha!

    xo,

    Kathryne
